Janet Smaltz Yandell (Jan) was born in Greencastle, Indiana. She is the youngest of five by seven minutes having an identical twin sister.

Jan has a B.A. in Physical Education, Recreation and Biology from Manchester College, a M.A. in Exercise Physiology from New Mexico State University,
a M.Div. from The Methodist Theological School in Ohio and a D.Min. from
Ashland Theological Seminary.

She has taught physical education and coached volleyball, basketball and track at the high school and college levels before entering seminary.

Prior to East Shore, Jan was the District Associate for the North Coast (former Cleveland District) with duties in missions and program ministry, the pastor of People's Hope UMC on the Near West Side of Cleveland, and   Director of The Nehemiah Mission Cleveland  (Housing over 2500 missionaries in three years.)

 She has also been the Associate Pastor at The United Methodist Church of Berea , Pastor of Chesterville  and Harmony Chapel,  Student Pastor of Westfield UMC, and  Student Associate of  Briggsdalel/Union UMC in the West Ohio Conference

Jan is married to Jim, a physics teacher in Olmsted Falls. They have 2 adult children. Aidan (23) and Adam (21.)

Jacqueline and Courtney Bennett

Jacqueline Bennett was born in Montego Bay, Jamaica, but moved to the Cleveland area at age 10.

She is married to Courtney Bennett, a Customer Service Representative for Continental Airlines.

Jacqueline and Courtney have two sons: William Andrew (age 3) and Joseph Henry (age 1.)

Jacqueline has worked in the areas of Social Work and Education before entering the ministry.

After graduating from Cleveland John Hay High School, she graduated from  Kenyon College , with a  BA in Psychology, and from  Ashland Theological Seminary with a Masters of Divinity .    

Jacqueline comes to East Shore from Glenville United Methodist Church.
